1985 125M spark help.

Okay I just got a 125M and it has no spark. What can I do to get spark? Are there points in these engines? Is there any other common problems about this issue i should look for? The electric start works and the neutral light works and the headlight turns on so I dont think the whole elctrical is screwed up. But anyhting i should check and or do to get spark?

Replace the excitor coil (I think that's what it's called) inside your stator.

its a brand new plug judst bought it today BR8ES

thanks for the help Howdy, but i got it running. It turns out that the spark plug boot was bad. I put the boot off my moped on it and pulled it and it fired right up 1st pull. Runs good smokes a little on startup, but overall good. Now all I need is the carb. rebuild kit for it and i should be golden. It only runs for a few minutes untill it dies and then i wait a little bit and it runs again for a few minutes.
