Question rocker arm removal, 84 225DX

Im working on a 84 225DX ,It smokes after the oil gets to the topend, after removing the head , I noticed the intake valve was wet with oil, I have new seals, but I cant get the rocker arms out, I tried threading a bolt in the rocker shaft, clamping vicegrips on and pulling by hand, Is there a set screw? or am I not applying enough pull? any imput would be very helpfull ,Thank you for your time DoorNail

    Hey,
I had the same trouble as you. It's a real ***** to get those out, I had to take my head to a cyl head shop to get them to pull it out (that was after I wrecked the threads on the rocker shaft. and had to buy a new head.) I would take it to a shop if I were you, they have the right tools to do it.
