I HAVE A NEW TOY!! Now how do I convert this to a trike?

I could not resist, I bought a brand new off the show room floor YZF 450. This thing is super sexy and crazy fast. I love it. I love my Tri-Z’s more, but at least with this one I can beat on it and not worry about it. I made the decision, if I could not find a yellow and black Special Addition model, I would not get one. I think it looks pretty good to the Z I have under restoration. Let’s hear it, what to you have think about these quads?

Those are nice, I especially like the yellow and black ones. They bring back the vintage look for the bikes. I think what is gonna happen is that you will ride it to the point that the only reason you will have to ride the Z's will be to make sure the water pump seal doesn't stick to the shaft and on rides with other 3 wheelers. Your Z is lookin good too.....Chris

I hope not. That quad is fun, but I love them Z's. I want to put my Buddy's YFZ up against one of my Tri-Z's and see what happens.

I must say, I am looking forward to going up against the Honda 450. I hear it they are pretty evenly matched.

You heard wrong,,.. at least with the older 450Rs.. lol They werent much of a step up from a 400ex in a drag race. Now the new ones, I havent seen them in action yet, so they might be some competition to the YFZs.

Yeah, it was all in good fun. I heard the same thinf about the first 450R's. But I have also heard that honda realized they were still getting spanked. Either way, I think it comes down to rider ability.

Sweet! Do any mods to it yet? Any plans for mods? You should at least do the cam mod. I think you want to retard the exhaust cam by one tooth then it will have the same valve timing as the dirt bike, don't quote me on that.

I have not done anything to it yet. I am still not sure which way I want to go with it. i have a good foundation for a race quad, but I love the trails. So we will have to see what developes over time. I have been reading about the timing change. I might give that a try. I am looking forward to having both a Z and the YFZ out at the same time.
