A lot more information is needed to be able to give "Good" advice here.
Your age / size:
Your Riding history ( Have you ever rode a ATV before, ect ):
and the terrain your planning on riding on.
Your ability to repair machines ( all machines require maintance & repair at some point in time ):
With this info we can get a better grips on what might be a good machine for you.
Howdy
15 yrs old, 6 foot3 215 lbs yes I have rode a atv wood trails and mud trails open road/gravel and I have a good ability to repair machines.
Do you want a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke? I think with you not riding them much before, you better start with a 4. Something like the 200X, 250SX, or 200E/ES ect..
I'm 15, 6' 4" and 270lbs and I ride a 250SX. I should probably sell the SX and invest in a 350X, but I am experienced. I'm not sure if a 350X would be too much for you or not.

I vote 250sx. Or if your feelin sporty a 200X.
I'd say a Honda 200X or maybe a 350X would be the way to go sport wise but an all around good bike would be a nice Honda 250SX.

I want a 2 stroke.
Then you only have a few options. The 85-86 250R's are by far the most common and have the most aftermarket support. Tri-Z's are a bit more stretched out and would likely feel more comfortable for someone as tall as you. Tecate's are hard to find and hard to find parts for but they make great power.Originally Posted by Iwantatrike
Tri-Z's are awesome trail bikes. Good low end for a 2 stroke. 250R's can be equally as good in the trails as long as it's set up right for it (meaning, keep it mostly stock and maybe gear it down a little). Something as seemingly harmless as an aftermarket pipe can have a drastic effect on a 2 stroke bike's powerband and make it not as trail friendly as it could be. Take any 2 stroke that's ported and piped for top end and it's not gonna be a real fun trail bike.
Tri-Z or 250R. Air cooled R would be a great first trike.

Air cooled R's are usually cheapest to pick-up. Most start at around $500-$600.
Problem is, that at your height, you'll feel a little cramped. Even the 85-86 R's seem to be a little small. I would suggest that you try the Yamaha Tri-Z. They can usually be bought for $800-up.
Your age is a little concern for such a big bike though. I would never suggest anyone to get a 2 stroke for a first trike. Provided you know how to use a manual clutch, I would suggest an 86-87 200X. These bikes have more than enough power for most and great suspension too. After you feel comfortable on that, then I would think about upgrading to a 2 stroke.
2007 YAMAHA YTZ450 went to a great home RIP Sam
The 84/85 Tecate is built nice for larger riders also if you really want a quick two stroke trike. Parts aren't hard to find for it at all contrary to whatsaid. I have been able to get everything I want for my 85 without hassle and its really a great trike. You can usually find them for cheap in nice condition.

I would also have to say a 200x for a nice little 4 stroke. IF you must get a 2 stroke get a Tri-Z. Like already stated, they have tons of room and have tons of low end. My brother who is around your height loved the feel of it. I am about 5'10 and I also love the feel of the tri-z. I havent really had any problems finding parts for my Z, the 250r definetly has more parts. Good luck!

I agree with Derrick Adams you should get a 4 stroke for your first bike untill you learn how to ride. you should probably stick with a 200x or a 250sx. I had a 250sx for a little more than a year and i learned how to ride it pretty well. Then i got the erg for more speed so i bought a 86 250r. well even after being familiar with three wheelers that powerband still kicked my arse and threw me into the bushes lol. even today it sill surprises me sometimes
