I say a 200x, I have one and love it, I have a 86 atc 310pvr, crf450r quad, and amzingly I still ride the 200x every for often, they are alot of fun and won't kill you if you make a mistake, unlike my 250r which will hurt you if you wreck.

I started on a 225 DX/ DR and I love them... It only took me a year if even that to get good. As far as two strokes, Tri Z all the way. If you haven't noticed I'm kind of a Yamaha guy.

a 250r is an all out bike though, and it likes to go fast all the time. test out a 250sx or 200x and then if you still want more, look at any of the 'big three'.
oh, andto the boards!

I've got 10 years of dirtbiking and fourwheeling behind my belt. Ive rode around on a 225dx for a few days and got used to it real fast. They can be real tricky to ride at first. But if you have experience, you can get used to anything fast. Just remember, trikes take a lot more body language to drive. You have to lean a lot. trike are so much fun to drive. I liked that 225dx better than anything i've ever drove. I've driven a lot of stuff too. Trikes own![]()
I am 49 years old and a first time ATV/ATC rider. I'm 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. I have a 200x that is all stock. I got it last fall and did not get it running until this spring. It has plenty of power for me and it keeps up with my friend on his Blaster. My grandkids love riding on it with me.
215 lbs, 270 lbs, what the hell are you 15 year olds eating??!!!Originally Posted by nouseforaname90

Then again, my cousin is 15 and is 6'3" and 240 lbs, must be the steroids used in chicken/cattle these days, sheesh.
Back to the topic, I wouldn't start with a high performance 2-stroke trike. Get a 4-stroke for starters, I can't think of a better first bike for a large dude than a ATC250SX, plenty power and very well built.![]()
'03 CR250R Pro Circuit Works pipe, Uni filter, etc
Previous trikes: '85 ATC350X, '85 ATC250ES Big Red
I say get a 350x, it's a lot of power but if you arn't a F***-up like a lot of kids our age (I'm 15 too) then you'll be fine. 2-stroke's are much more for expierenced riders. The 350x has plenty of power!!!!
As for everybody saying that 250r don't make good trail bikes, thats crap. I ride on crap so damn rough with mine!! Yet my friedns on 300ex's or 400ex's are trying to keep up. It's all about the rider, you'd be surprised what you can get ANY machine to do if it's in the right hands.
I would say a 83 yamaha ytm200ek this model fits me fine with alot of room and fun to wheelie on and get use 2. First time owners should not ride a honda unless its a good model.. I am the same age and wieght of you and i have had alot of fun with my bike so far and hardly any problems. so check into it man good luck triking brother! _Joe_
lol is every1 15 on here lol me and many others like 10 are all 15 lol. were all having fun with are trikes welcome to the klan
I guess it does not really matter what your first trike is as long as you use common sense. Please wear a helmet and protective gear and don't get too cocky.
