    450r v 250r drag race

hi this is me on my new 450r draggin my buddy (jez)on my 250r......the drag is less than 1/4mile up a steep hill....just shows how much more torque the 450r has over my stock 250r.....it's closer on the flat but the 450r still wins even before i have fitted the HRC kit.......it's going to fly with that on

Sweet. My 450 hasn't lost to a 250R yet. You gotta get a pipe too. My brother just bought a used Alba full exhaust system for his 450R off ebay for like $90! At leat you got the HRC kit, it's a whole different bike with that on there. I bet you put at least 3 more bike lenghts on that 250R with just the HRC kit.

Pipe that 2-stroke and it will wake up nicely. Even more than 4s, 2-strokes really wake up with basic mods. No arguing with the 450R though, it's a great handling bike and plenty fast.

I agree. If you have a stock pipe on that 250R you have some easy potental right there. On my 250R I went from a DG pipe to an ESR ATC-5 and it was an insane difference.

yep i know piped would have more of a chance but i did race a 4 over piston not piped but dg back box 250r that day and i still smoked him (staceyl200 ask him) i think on the flat there would'nt be much in it .....plus the hill we were racing up was very steep at the bottom which deffo helped the 450r with it low torque kick........

I don't want to stir up to much, but port that R & give it a 38mm carb & pipe it. The outcome will be very different. I love honda's, & the 450-R is a sweet Quad. But the old R is hard to beat when built right.

Ok this is a drag race between two STOCK bikes ....yes i could hop up the 250r BUT on the flip side i could hop up the 450r to go faster again.....all this race is a direct comparison between modern atv and 1985 atv........i love my 250r and will never sell it but i do love this trx too

Umm what if you do the same to the fofiddy? Oh wait, it already has a 40mm(the 06,(05 is 42mm)).

Yup you must be right, the 450 has a 40mm carb, that makes all the differance. I will stick with the old 250-R for the drags. My 310-R has a 40.5mm carb, so that must mean it's real fast.

Sounds like none of you 450 riders have gone up against a fast 250R yet huh? Come to my side of town lets see how fast your 450s really are!

You are a moron. You were bragging about porting piping and giving the R a carb, so why cant you do the same mods to the 450..it will still outrun it. I don't see how its fair for a semi worked machine to go against a stock one..but then again, the 250 probably still wouldn't pass the 450.
