85-86 350x Triple Tree swap.

Can you use a 86 Front end with the 86 triples on a 85 frame? I am having a issue with the upper triple not seating down far enough on to the stem. The stem nut will tighten but the threads don't ever come through the top. Any Ideas?

If youre using those all balls bearing kits, or the tapered bearings in general, sometimes they are a pain. Both of my races in my 200s fit in nicely, but after riding around a bit, my steering stum nut wasnt tight enough, due to the bearings finally seating in the races and everything really getting pounded together.

If you feel safe enough, id try to go for a ride and throw some weight on the front end, and maybe that will help your problems. It worked for mine.

Thanks!! The only difference I can find with the 85-86 TT's are the lower bearing seals. I am using the aftermarket race/needle type bearings.

All I know right off is the bearings are differant. they do not interchange.
