My wife has a 98 Acura Integra GSR. The only problems she has had is the AC(which is the only american made/installed part, truely sad I think) and the paint is fading. But other than that its a nice car.

    86-87 Tecate ROCK!

Ride fast...........brake late............and Slide the rear!

Its the most STOLEN vehicle in North America the last 10 years running (93 thru 99 model). Keep em locked up good. People who know just want them for their "bullet-proof" engines!
I was think'n about get'n one, they can be a zippy ride with some minor engine mods.

should inspect the timing belt!!!! it takes a $1000 dollar bill to rebuild the engine when it breaks at 70 mph and bends all 16 valves!!!! been there!!!

I don't have an Integra but I do have this 91 Accord SE (SE= fairly rare) with 182,000 on it which is nothing for these.

I got it last year at this time from my neighbor for 1300. They were both retired and drove it slooooow. I love it.

I have links to all kinds of Acura-Honda sites.

Here is one that has a lot that I'm sure applies to yours even though it's Honda.

    http://www.d-a-p.com/archive.htm

Rear wheel well tip for rust and door rust are good tips. If you have a rubber trim strip on rear fender well, take it off as all that does is holds moisture in.

The front motor mounts are known to break as far as the inside rubber goes or at least part way tear and you then get vibration. I replaced mine and it made a noticable improvement.

A proper timing belt job you should replace the water pump, numerous seals, a shaft balance belt (not sure if that the term) + even still other things too.

I get all my parts at 30% discount from http://www.manhonda.com/ap/index.cfm...level=51&sid=0

...........not sure if they sell Acura parts or not?

Check out the Acura - Honda high milage stories!!

90-93 Integras are good cars. Subject to rust, yes. But very easy to work on and a very reliable with minor maintenance. As mentioned, if you don't know the history of the timing belt, it should be replaced, period (along with the water pump).

yes these are very good cars, anything honda really is great! And those little GSR's are pretty peppy and can be made quite quick. I have a friend with a 92 GS model with some motor work and it will run with slighty modded Z28's through the 1/8th.
