Apparently, this one is no joke. No matter where it hits, it will do some serious damage. I saw one report that said there is a strong chance it could hit the mouth of Tampa Bay. If it does, there will be catastrophic damage.

I think katrina WAS the record. But, this one was at 175 mph not too long ago. I think its starting to weaken, but it won't weaken that much.... This year is horrible. I wonder how the famous New England winter will be like this year

I'm looking forward to the state of emergencies so I can take a nice long ride on the road. I'll be passing the snowmobiles that are usually out there. They usually only cruise around at 30 or 40 mph.

Yup...this is the biggest hurricane ever recorded. 185mph winds, and the lowest recorded barometric pressure of 882.

Awesome! Makes us humans feel so small and helpless

We survived 3 last year, but this one is definitely nothing to screw with. All I can hope for is that it will weaken (as predicted) before and while it crosses Florida.

I can tell you that in the public service profession that I am in, I have to work 16 hour days all the way through it. That's what we did last year through Charlie, Frances, and Jeanne.

    Brace up, fellas.

I am ready for the hurricane. When it hits shore I am going to get Fred (Fred and Wilma the Flintstones) to tell her to shut up. No ready if it hits us it will shut things down until after the first of the year. Working in construction I say ChaChig!!!! If I can make it that long. As long as it down't mess up Rumble In DIXIE.
