86' Big Red vs. 86' 250 SX

What are the difference between the 2 trikes.

86' 250 Big Red...................................86' 250SX

The big red had 25" tires. 250sx had 22's
The sx looked more sporty than the BR, but the BR is a real big utility.
I like the BR's better.
Im sure there is differances in suspension, but i';m not sure.
Im sure someone on here knows all the differances.

Thanks for the input. I was able to see by some pics that the BR has less travel and the Forks on the SX look as if they have more travel. Was thinking of putingg the best of both togeather, Like a BR with SX suspention

The SX is also faster due to the gearing in the rear end.

the sx modles have a taller 5th gear giving them the edge in the higher speed area ,,, .

Did 86 BR's have hi low gear selection?

I dont think so. They are the same engine as the SX

hey nick do you have any pics about your 250x and what condition it is in. I have an 86 250sx

I have both an 86SX and a couple Big reds. The SX with racks would be a killer long trail rider. It has the nice sporty suspension to ride long distances and with racks you could carry stuff just like the Red. Now I love my big red cuz it has that low end torque and pulling power, It does feel alot more stable in some circumstances, due to its size and racks.
But all in all, I think the SX is the best all around trike out there, you have sporty fun and can even jump with them, but yet can still be a utility and work around the yard..............peace

Still the question is, If I put SX forks and rear shock on a BR, other than top speed would that make the 2 equale on the trails?(note I have riden SX but never a BR)For say lonng 90 plus mile rides(Kalkaska trail loop in 90 miles north an d90 miles south plus many others in between)
