    Might be pickin' up a sled....

    Hey i found a deal (cuz theres no snow this year :? ) on a 93 Ski-Doo Formula Plus 583. Its supposed to be in good shape. I called on it tonight and talked to the guys wife/husband was gone and she didn't know much. what do you guys think of these sleds?? and if anyone could hook me up with a pic. of one that would be great :-D

    I'll call back tommorow when the guy is supposed to be back n keep posted.

    The formula 583's were a pretty good sled. not all that powerful, but fast enough to still be fun and pretty reliable.

    how did you talk to his wife/husband though? you really couldnt tell the difference?

    uh, I talked to the guys wife. He is gone for a few days. (sorry my / should have been a . )
    Called again and had her take my name and number.

    Anyone know of a good snowmoble picture and specs. site that actually has an searchable archives of snowmobles?? Not just for this sled. I always seem to have a hard time finding info/pics on older non-vintage sleds (skidoos). Any other opionions are welcome. Go ahead and tell me the bad stuff too if ya want....

    How is this? This is not a 93, but simular in look's. I think this is a 91. The 583 was made from 1989-1999. Bulletproof engine. I have one in a 98 Ski Doo.

    hey thanks a lot for the pic. yeah thats it. I'm pretty sure that they were the same style from 91-93 and then they came out with a newer style in 94 for all of the Formulas. Unfortunatly I think the sled might have been sold to someone else :? but i'll have to check...

    not sold yet, i'll be looking at it as soon as i can. Hows $750 obo sound :?: (looks like a sweet deal to me) He says he put $800 alone in the suspension and tune up last year. we'll see. He's sellin' it cuz of the lack of snow and the bad econmoy i guess.

    I looked at it today. Looks pretty good overall, a few imperfections, but solid. I didn't get to ride it yet though because the seller was not home. Looks similar to the 91 show above but with a sportier fitted windshield.

    Well i bought it and i love it. I had it up to 85 on a lake yesterday. I also beat my friends 02 artic cat 550 in a drag. I'll try to post some pics when i can....
