84 200x and 86 200x interchange ?

I have decided not to restore the 86 200X that I have due to lack of interest and I am going to just fix everything that was wrong with it and get it going again for a rider. The upper tripple tree was damaged and I was wondering if the tree from an 84 model would work. All I need to use is the upper clamp and it looks exactly the same to me but I wanted to be certian before I go to all th trouble of pulling it off and cleaning it up.

I have one I can sell you. If you want the whole front end w/ a rebuild and progessive springs, I can sell you the whole thing(preffered). I'm not using it,not have I for the past year. I installed a 350x triples on mine and 84r front end and its far far better than the stock one.

I have several for the 83-85 200x's and if it will work then I am good to go. I figure that I am just going to try it tonight and see what happens.

I'm pretty sure the upper clamp will work. There is a 85 200x frontend on my wifes 86 200x.(bought it like that). You lose the steering stops though.

The upper clamp works, It is differnt but nothing that will affect its overall performance. I used the 86 200X lower clamp so I still have my steering stop
