Anyone running a DG silencer with stock header on a Tri-z?

I'm having problems fitting a DG silencer onto a stock expansion champer on a Tri-z. If I hold the silencer up to where the one mounting tab should go it appears that its supposed to bolt to one of the gas tank bracket hanger things? I don't think thats right because the welded nut on the frame is on the same side of the frame that the silencer mounts to. Also, the exp chamber has a smaller piece of pipe sticking out of it. I removed this and its about 3 inches long, with this removed the DG won't slip over the pipe, therefor this piece is needed. Is that part on all Z's or do I have some rigging going on? If anyone is running this set up please tell me how you did it.

I am running it. I had to cut down the DG silencer where it met the stock pipe. I think I took about 1/2 inch off.

The silencer bolts to one of the holes behind the grab bar mount. It was not hard to do, but you have to measure and carefully cut the DG silencer down. If you do this correctly the silencer should bolt into one of the holes right behind the grab bar.

Let me know if you need pics. Send me a PM if you need them.

    Good luck!!

I had the same problem with my old Z. I ended up just fabricating an extension mount out of slotted angle iron. It worked out great and after a good prep and paint job - looked pretty sano.
