New DW article - 2006 KTM quad - Polaris to use KTM motors.

I just finished reading the short article in Dirt Wheels about KTM's plans for a full production ATV for 2006. No info yet but sounds exciting. The same article also mentioned that Polaris was planning to use KTM motors in future ATV's. Polaris is part owners of KTM now. The future continues to be bright.

I hope to see a KTM 525 quad...that would lay some Lickin on the 450's with near 70 hp out of the box (depding on bike package) and with cam's piston/valves you can make em run dam close to built cr500's...

i would personally want to see an LC4 based quad something like the 660, or 625 motor, but the 525 would probobly be awsome, im guessing they will introduce a 450 first. but hopefully they put it in a light frame polaris tends to have stuff that is way too heavy

The only thing I don't want to see is one of those great engines stuffed into a mediocre Polaris chassis as the flagship model from KTM. At the same time, I hope that it isn't some hideous contraption either. Have you seen the 990 Duke? It's a fantastic motorcycle, hindered with one of the ugliest facades ever (IMO). As hard as it may be for some people to admit, KTM makes excellent engines. Dare I say, better than the Japanese, including Honda? A lot of people have a negative perception of KTM because they haven't been playing the game for as long as the big four, but they are an all high-performance company. They don't make marshmallows, just race-oriented products.

Come on KTM, don't let us down.

A 525 race bike would be the dogz nutz IMO, love to see it AND ride it. Hopefully KTM gets it right with their first quad ever. Oh and I've got a new dream trike, KTM 525 ATC.

id have to disagree, i have a ktm mine never needs work beside the annual oil change and valve adjustment, and i dont know if you read up but if you talkin about there race bikes, all race bike are high Maintenance, even the honda 450's and yamaha's you are suppose to change the oil in them every 500 miles or within 2 or 3 races, and top ends need to be rebuilt alot on race bikes,(at least thats what i hear about the dirtbikes)(no idea about the 450r quads) but i have never once had a problom with my ktm motor.

ITs all about how you take care of the bike, if you do things right **** wont break.

thats just my 2 cents though.

You obviously haven't ridden a new KTM. The old bikes had their fair share of trouble, but the new ones are far better than the old.
