tri moto 200 Idle problem

hello All,
I have a yamaha tri moto 200.
It wont Idle, runs great and occasionally will idle but idle speed is erratic.. not rapidly... slowly changing .. speeding up . When adjusted so its not racing when at its highest.. it will slow down until it dies.

any Ideas?

also.. do you think it would be wise to remove the compression brake cable and its parts in the pull start all together if it is not working properly?

You possibly just answered your own Question---Does the comp release close ?==You may be leaking compression--Not enough to stop running--but definitely enough to feed the Stall Gremlins. Other wise--Clean your carb-(Plugged Pilot jet)-and check for air leaks at case Halves, Intake , and around the base of the head. Also----a fresh spark plug wont hurt anything--so change it.
