what is your 200x starting ritual?

ok. i thought i had this thing figured out but i do not know. one time it starts right up, the next time i am in the fridge to get a beer and cool off. so how do you start your 200x when cold? how about when hot? do you use full choke? half shoke? i am begining to think i need to kick it harder!!! time to hit the gym. my 350x with NO decompression cable is easier to start.

No choke, very very lightly on the throttle (Just enough to feel the slide open slightly) and do very quick "snappy" kicks with the front tip of your shoe, never using more then half of the throw at max.

Thats what I do anyways, works for me.

On my old 86 200X, i used to start it cold, full choke, no throttle, kick it 3 times, if it didnt start in 3 kicks, half chocke and slight throttle, and it would fire right up. When it was hot, no choke, slight throttle and one good, swift kick, and she would fire up.

Since rebuilding my carb completely and adjusting the timing ever so slightly my 200x has been a breeze to start, before I would pop start it down a hill every time, now a couple kicks and it's running. A hair of throttle and a solid kick with full choke when very cold and little to no throttle with half or no choke when warm.

This weekend i used half choke and just jabbed the throttle a little, took about 5 kicks. Make sure you let it warm up good too cause i think with air cooled engines the piston heats up much quicker than the head and youll pop it if you dont let it warm up.
    I got nothing...

I guess I've been lucky. I can actually sit on my 250R seat and kick it while sitting down. Starts 2nd kick everytime. Choke on, no throttle. On my 350X, once it is warm, I can do the same thing. Course, I have very strong legs though.
