I just restored my 79 110, got all the parts from Dennis Kirk (www.denniskirk.com) they have the complete gasket set, carb kits, and lots of other goddies for the machines. I like to use Kirk beacuse of there same day shipping policy...it will get to you quick!

Thats pretty neat. i like how you painted the two tubes that go to the carb Red. makes it look real nice. And is that an '86 SX with an X front end in your avatar? If so post a pic. Its always nice to see a new hybrid every now and then.

I actually am a amateur powder coated, we powder coated the head and the intake tube, the hubs, and various other parts the frame is powder coated red also, Me an my sons (all 4 of them watch too much american chopper) the 250 sx has a 250r front end with a 200x hub powder coated red and double piston front brake caliper, 10 inch aluminum rims and handle bars off of a rm 125 that were powder coated blue. I have owned that 250 since 1986. it was my 14th bithday present from my father, but i wanted a 250r, 20 years later I added the 250r front end, man this thing handles well. I put the 250 r rim and tire on my sons atc 110 using the original axle and 2 atc 70 spacers. i will add more pics of our endevours soon, i am new to the forum and we have customized my 250sx, a atc 110 and a atc 70, you should see the fork i fab headlight mount too, having a problem uploading pictures, says the file size is to big

Here are a few more pictures, certainly no beauty queen, but a butt load of fun.
The first pic is of my crew so far, the second is of what the 110 looked like a year or so ago when I had only 1 atc70 and my son was having trouble manuvering the full sized 110. I know looks very silly I put atc 70 forks and tire on front and atc 70 tires in back. Was actually pretty fun to rise, like a souped up atc 70. Well as kids do he has grow up a bit since then and we rebuilt the top end(It smoked like a chimmney) and put the original forks and such back on. The 250r front tire and rim was his idea. He actually went and grabed some spacers of the atc 70 axle and the axle bolt of his 110 and the hub of the 250r and proved to me it would work. I was kind of proud! I mean he is only 9 and we really don't do no hard core trailriding yet, just play in the mud at this point. I don't want to rush him, take it slow and easy, teach as you go, but for gods sake be careful. The 3rd pic is of a motor me and my 10 year old have been working on. We are working on a old 1985 110. I have a cool Idea for the front end design for this bike. I am going to fabricate the stem for the 200x triple. I am going to powder caot them red, like the gas tank. I am going try to put the spare pair of 250sx forks on it with red fork boots, along with red front fender, and red 250 sx headlight. I think it will give it a cool look maybe a suspension but keeping with the red scheme of the original. Not sure if it will all work until I get down to it hopefully this weekend. I have been working 60hr work weeks and have very little time for projects. I will try to post some pic as the project moves further along. I am lucky and have a entire 2 car garage and 12 x 14 storage shed full of parts and such to play around with. I have 4 boys and we really have a great time just screwing around. I will have to admit I am rather excited about this new 110 project the motor looks sweet, but he still have a long road ahead.

I've been noticing a lot of people are running their rear tires backwards lately. Any reason why? I'd think that you'd want more traction to ride through the mud and hills and such. anyone?

I think I'm gonna do the same to my 110, but I'm having trouble deciding between just a front tire swap, or a whole front end swap... What do you guys think?

Like I said early I am working on another 110 that I am going to try a front end swap. I am just going to have to fabricate the stem. It does handle better with the narrow tire in front. Not so hard for a little guy like my son to manuvuer. I have a but load of cylce parts and I have been eyeballing this old 1965 Honda super 90. I measure the neck on the frame and it is the same length. Not sure if it will work, but if I find a easy swap with another bike I will let you know.

Ok I started with the stem swap. This is for 89 gt stang by the way, I cut the stem out, ground it down. Took an old 6 inch bolt of off a footpeg assembly from a old 1973 cb 750 parts bike. Grong the bolt head down just far enough to tap it in the 110 stem. Put 1/8 inch of the bottom of the stem in the vise and pressed it in all the way around and then welded it and put it back on the grinder and ground it down. Don't forget to measure how much of the bolt you want to stick out first!LOL Seee next post for the rest.

200x works great...just need a new stem to be made. also, the stem guides in the 110 neck need to be ground out a bit cause the 200x stem is a bit fatter.

I Went ahead and powder coated the clamps red with Pendrys Flame red polyester gloss powder coating(Very close match to Honda Red). The first picture is of the new stem(atc 110) compared to a stock stem(200x). The second photo is of the pieces together, I will have to do some work on the top bolt to get it to fit correctly still. The last picture is the headlight I want to use, I still have a lot of work to do removeing the white paint that some one put on it. I want to put the same powder on the gas tank and on the fork ends plus add a pair of red fork boots. I will also powder coat the front hub and maybe even the brake caliper. I was hoping to get a chance this weekend to start bead blasting my fram and getting it ready for powder, but I promised the kiddo's I was going to take them to the planetarium after church tomorrow.
