Ok I got this nice tire (23x8x11) from swinehart, changed the rim over to the one I was using, and put it on the SX. Now the issue. It rubs on the right side and it isnt balanced between the two forks. Now the tire before this was a 23.5x8x11 and it never rubbed (of course it was bald though) and was centered fine. So is there anything I can do to fix this? Can I take the axel off and throw some washers in to move the hub over or no?

Hey Pops ,,, I don't think it matters about the spacer being in right or wrong but perhaps take a look at that.
Secondly ,,, you can losen the 4 bolts on the right side fork leg just enough to pull/pry the fork leg out some what. I have found that fork legs have alot more give side to side then you would expect.
Washers might not be a bad idea either ,,,

I'm using the same rim max just differnt tire.

POP,what he means is:The 4 nuts at the bottom of the fork leg,loosen them up,then pull the fork outward,hold it,then tighten them back down.I had the same problem on the blue X.But, i had an 85 hub on an 86 rim,and it was off centered.It made such a bad grinding noise,we pulled the wheel off,then the dust seal,and the ball bearings came rolling out one by one.Got new bearings,put the hub on an 85 rim,pulled the fork out,everything is fine.

its not that side that rubs though. Its the disk brake side.

ok 200x front end. disk brake is on right side if your sitting on it. '85 250r front hub. new tire rubs the right side fork (if your sitting on it.)

Hmmm,i'm thinking it's your 85 R hub.The 85 R brakes are on the left side.So,you had to turn the hub around the other way to work for the brakes on the right side.That's where your probably getting that much offset.Should try a 200x hub.Just a guess.

If 452x is correct ( sounds right to me ) ,,, I have a 200x front hub you can have Pops.

is there that much of a difference in the offset? If so I'll try to figure something out and if nothing works I'll get a hold of you John.

Some tires balloon out more than others... I had a mud devil on my SX when i got it.. grooved the forks up real good. Actually had to take a utility knife to it and trim the outside of the knobs..
Make sure you have enough space to alow some tire flex during side loads.
Currently :

I actually pumped it up a **** load hoping that it would get skinny and not flex but these 6 plys dont do that much I guess.

Ok I got it all fixed. I threw 2 washers on the hub and then put the tire on so it would only go so far over and not rub. Works great.

tire companies having different ways of measureing tires. if you take the same tire size. and compare 2 different brands. they both measure to different sizes. even some brands have different sizes between tire lines. if you take a goodyear wrangler rt/s, and a goodyear wrangler at/s. with both saying the same size. their actualy different size, one is short and fat, other is tall and skinny, even though they both say the same size.
