Carb??for Tri-z

I know I read on here somewhere that somebody put a keihin 39MM PWK on a tri-z.Does that carb slip into the stock intake boot?I have a 38MM Mikuni on mine right now.I have always been a Keihin fan.I just would like to prepare for what I will need to do this job.

Ronnie (Yamahondaman) is running one on his Z, but he doesn't have the stock intake. He's got one of those rare Duncan pyramid reedcages that comes with a larger diameter boot. The Yamaha wrench report article says one from an IT250 aircooled endura bike will bolt up to the Z cylinder, and has a bigger opening but they are kind of hard to find.

You actually dont need the boost bottle and you probably wont know the difference with it gone. Ive seen a 89 banshee on a dyno with and with out the boost bottle and it made more power with out it, if that goes the same for the Z I have no clue but it is somthing to think about.

I dropped my boost bottle when I went to the YZ topend. I instead added an intake spacer, which does the same thing. I'm running a Keihin 39mm on my Z but I don't have the stock intake either.

Did we ever find out about the V-force reed block for the WR or whatever it was? Will it work or not?

I really don't know about the switch from a 38 to a 39, if it's worth it. Other than getting rid of the Mikuni. I really liked the 36mm Keihin on the Z for all around performance with the stock cylinder.
