    Maier fenders

Hi all. I'm about to buy some new Maier fenders for my '84 200X. I was just wondering what experience people have had with their products. Are they more flimsy, do they scratch easier (softer plastic), are they the right red in comparison to OEM fenders?

I don't like the fact their front fenders don't have the brake cable guide built in. Any good ideas what to use that doesn't look like crap?

Even if there's a consensus out there that they are bad, I think I'm pretty much stuck. You can't buy OEM fenders and no one else appears to make them. Oh well. I'm guessing they're good enough.

I have maier on one of my 350x's and i like them better than the oem. They seem to flex more then oem but they dotn fit quite perfect, good but not perfect. Like you said, your stuck its your only option.

their plastic is durable, but it fits horrible in my case. i measured some things, such as the hole the seat bracket bolts to, and it isnt centered. im going to shape things up soon, but as it stands, the fenders look flimsy.

I'm guessing the requires drilling new holes for it to fit properly? Hopefully I'll get a decent fit.

The old Maier plastic needed the holes drilled, the new stuff comes with the holes drilled for you. For the 200x, I like the look of the maier more then the OEM stuff.

The red is a little darker. I think they're a bit glossier too.

The rear fender in these pics is a new Maier, the front is OEM.

You can use the front fender off a 85-86 250r on a 200x by the way.

, is that your 200X? Looks like it's in real nice shape. I found a guy who does all the 200X stickers, if you need any.

Can someone posts some pics of what to use to mount the sides of the Maier rear fender? I am reffering to the 2 mounts (1 on each side) down by where your hips are.

    Thanks.

It was mine. Sold it not long ago. I've still got an '83 that needs some work.
