ok you can get replacement springs from progressive suspension but you will have to make a spacer as the springs are to short and they tell you, you need spacers.

the forks are not hard, let me explain.

if the forks are still in the tripple trees, loosen the top two bolts on each side. then loosen the fork tube cap. on the very bottom point of the fork there is a bolt that holds the dampening rod in place. bolt a hex socket that fits it perfect, if you dont you will strip it. try to loosen it by hand first but dont get real crazy with it, if it dont come loose by hand hit it with an impact in short bursts to loosen it up. now loosen the bottom two bolts on each side to the tripple tree to free the forks and slide them out.

this is where it gets fun. one fork at a time is the best way to do it so no parts get mixed up.

lay a bunch paper towels or shop rags out in a big area so clean up will be easy when done.

first fork, take the cap off of the fork and slide the tube down in the slider. as you do this you will see springs. take the out one by one and lay in order they came out. once the springs are removed, get a bucket or something you can pour the old fork oil into. flip the fork upside down in the bucket.

now you need a really thin flat blade screw driver. the black ring around the top off the slider is your dust seal ans need to pry under the outside edge of that. be easy as it should pop right up with no problems. when that is off and out of the way you will se a snap ring under the dust seal. get a pair of snap ring pliers(makes this part go really easy there is corrosion). get the ring out of there. now slide your large spring back in the fork tube and put some pressure against it, now grab you hex socket and finish pulling the bole out of the bottom of the fork slider.

when that is done, take the large spring back outa dn now you can slide the tube out of the slider with the dampening rod still in the tube. you can take the rod outta the tube and lay next to it.

now take a shop rag and double it up and lay it on one top edge of the slider to protect it. now take a stronger flat blade screw driver and pry up on the seal and use the rag as a pivot. just like the dust seal, should come out easy.

now clean everything, when you think you have it clean, clean it two more times. there should be absolutley no dirt, grit , or grime in the forks at all. not even oil when it goes back togethor.

now when going back togethor, take it easy and slow so you dont mess anything up. read your instructions on the seals so you dont install them upside down, and use the weakest thread locker on the bolt that goes on the very bottom, torque it to spec and it will hold for about ever.

and please ask questions, we are here to help.

I put 1-1/4" spacers in each tube and they feel like new springs now.

What Do * Use For A Spacer? What Are The Mesurements. Also About The Rust On The Out Side Of Them How Can I Clean That Up?

On the rust, I've cleaned it up some with 2000 grit wet sand paper. But you will have the tiny pits there still.

On the spacers just use 1" SCH80 PVC pipe, any pump company will have good scaps laying around.
