    Just a quick question about oil..

    Alright,I am going for a beach ride with my mates tomorow....But I need to get some oil,will normal 4 stroke motorbike oil work????

    Cheers...Sorry about all these newbie questions..

    Any type 4 stroke oil is ok. I personally perfer the Honda oil.

    10w30 regular.. will do just fine.

    A complete oil change would be best.. but you an top off with regular oil if you have to...
    Currently :

    82 ATC - 200, plain jane, almost mint. ( Sold, 03-17-2005)
    84 ATC - 200 ES, Jimmy-Rigged, don't ask.( Sold, 03-17-2005)
    85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.
    84 125 M - The Mini-SX not running yet. but won't be long.

    Check your classification. Is it like SE, etc.

    I have read a lot of articles in magazines over the years. Some say that you need to use a certain kind of oil in an air cooled engine.

    I used Kendall 4-Stroke oil when I was younger. I have used Castrol with good success.

    10W-40 is recommended in my area. If I don't ride in anything below 35 degrees F,
    then I can use 20W-40.

    Keep those questions coming. Thats what this forum is all about.

    So the auto clutch and all will be fine....

    Bought my first trike brand new in 1981 and have used Castrol 10w 40 in them all since then. Never had a hitch with the motors. [touch wood].
