how should I reweld my DG (again)?? Guess exhaust hangars are there for a reason huh?

Well I was out riding today in the snow and I thought it sounded like I had no airbox lid on, even though I did. So, I decided to look at the exhaust and sure enough there was another crack. How should I fix this...should I weld the crack w/ a butt-weld or should I piece in some more aluminum around it and weld that over? What would be stronger and last? I guess I need to buy some exhaust hangars...if you got some let me know
