    It means the spring rate changes "progressivley" as you go through the length of the spring. In simple terms, the coils are closer together at end of the spring than the other. The benefits are that they are lighter than a single rate spring when fully extended, but stiffer than a single rate spring when they are compressed so you end up with a smoother ride on the light bumpy side, and less bottoming out on full compression jumps.

    Progressive Suspension is the name of the company.

    Progressive Rate Fork Springs is what they sell.... as what tim said. The "k" value of the spring changes as it is compressed. The front ones I have on both 350X's and my 250R. I have a rear spring from Progressive Suspension on my 250R... it's just plain stiff! (Baja Magnum spring.... old school!)

    Have them in my Tecate as well, very nice for rough rides and surprisingly smooth in the slow trails.
