    200x fuel level

how do you adjust the fuel level on a stock 86 200x carb. my bike hesitates from 1/4 to 1/2 trottle and i think the fuel level is too low but the float is plastic so i cant bend the tab to rase the fuel level. is there any way to do it?

    float level

thanks joel ! i am getting a little better at this stuff,,, not much but improving.

it seems i had the same problem as redrider200x at one time on a trike and found the boot between the carb and head was sucking air due to a big ole crack + it sure gave fits untill i figured it out.

Floats wont cause hesitation. If they are too high, it will piss gas out the overflow. If they are too low, it will die when your getting on it, and recover 5 seconds or so later as more full feeds back into the bowl. Floats are not a critical adjutment. They work exactly like the float in your toilet. They simply shut off flow when the bowl is full. The idea is to keep the bowl full without overflowing, in both cases. They have nothing to do with throttle response, or how fast the water flows through the toilet when you flush it.

its not a slight hesitation but more of a sputter like its about to die, it sputters real bad when im riding a whelle or going over whoops and it takes a few seconds to recover. should of explain better the first time thanks for the pic, i will try to see if that will fix it

are you sure the right carbs on there. The 200x has adjustable float,as in John's pic (good job John!)but my 250sx has all plastic float (non-adjustable, just replace).

rr200x- what year is your x? According to John's diagram, which I'm assuming is for '86-('87?), step #4 says there's a metal tab on the float arm. If yours is all plastic like my sx's,no adjustment.
