    Front Tire Choices

Looks like the old Ching Shin knobby on the front of my Big Red Project is just about gone. It is dry rotted and cracked, just won't hold air anymore.

I have some Carlile Turf Busters (Lawnmower Tires?) on the back. They seem to be ok and have some life left in them.

I have never ever bought any ATC/ATV tires.

What would be a good tire to put on the front ?

I would like a firm, good steering tire that doesn't slide so easy in a turn.

I have a Kenda Front Max on my SX. I don't ever use the front brakes, so that isn't an issue for me. The back breaks stop me fine, and the Front Max is great.. great turning ability.

Make sure you replace the valve stem while you're at it. They can dry rot too.

They still make the original '85-87 OHTSU Big Red Tires if you wanted to go that route.

Did the Big Red 250ES use the same size tire on all three wheels ?

I don't think I have ever seen a three wheeler with the same size tires on all around.

I'd say just go with knobbies. Cheap, effective, and I found that you can buy a pretty extreme tread and still the front will slide. Thats my $.02

Looks like my front tire is actually a Duro.

The size on the tire states it is the same as the rear ones.

I bet if I put one like I have on the back up front, it would rub.

The Wal-Mart knobbies are starting to look pretty good. LOL.
