    Bel Ray gear saver oil Q

    hello at my local dealer the only bel ray gear saver oil weight that i have seen is like 80w and 80w-90. I was wondering what bel ray gear oil you guys run in your machines? isnt somthing 80w waaay to thick? or hows that work?

    for your sx rear end right? If so 80w-90 is what is supposed to be run in it.

    Motorcycle and ATV transmission oils are rated differently. I have no idea what formula they use to come up with their numbers, but youll find that the 80wt tranny oils pour about like a typical 10w40. If you used automotive 80 wt, it would pour like refridgerated honey, and yes, be WAY too thick.
