Something is broken on my 350X Carb?? pics..

Well I took the carb off my project 350X I got the other day to clean it and check it out when I noticed that a spring coiled line running from a little turn dial up into the carb was broken in half(see pics). I think it may be the jet valve?? Not really sure yet, don't have the 350X manual yet-will have soon. Is this part replaceable, fixable, do I need to buy another carb, etc..?? Please let me know what yall know about this. thanks in advance-

That's the idle adjustment knob Pat. Maybe someone on the board has a NOS carb they can sell you. I think you have to replace the whole bracket, knob and line.

Oh ok that's what it is...I may check service honda to see if they sell just those parts to the carb alone or I may just pick up another carb if anything. Anyone have an old carb for a 350X they don't need?

i think a 300ex adjuster will work.and those go cheap on ebay.not sure if they are the same or not.but you can get the whole carb with that adjuster for like 30 bucks on ebay. or you can just live with it like that and use pliers to adjust what is left of the spring.
Here is where my long useless list of stuff nobody cares about should go...

A 250 SX idle works also but it is straight and not at a 90 like the 350X and may be difficult to turn behind the exhaust. But it is a direct bolt on and an option.

OH really wow, must not have been designed to last forever....I could prob. solder it back together but it prob. wouldn't work the same as it should.

Hey thanks Clay, that would be cool if you do have one...maybe the dirt-divers got to it lol, I found about 10 of their nests on and around the motor area of the bike.

The bolt-on replacement idle adjustment screw for the 350x is Honda P/N: 16028-HM3-L00. The original for the 350x is discontinued, but this replacement part is from a 300EX and is almost an exact replacement.

Also, to fix the stripped screw on your oil filter cover is pretty easy. A machine shop can install a heli-coil for you, or if you want to invest in the tool, you can buy the heli-coil kit to do this repair yourself. It will cost a bit up front, but then you'll be able to fix stripped threads easily in the future. The size you'll need for the filter cover, M6x1.0, is used in a ton of places on the motor and the rest of the machine.
