What carb should I go with on my T3?

As some of you may know I am building up my rider tecate. She's an 85 with some mods so far. I am going to be getting my cylinder ported as soon as I get my truck painted(whole different problem there) anyways, it is on the stock bore, new piston & rings, JP pipe and silencer, 20 inch tires, and I will be getting the delta v-force reed cages for it( should I go for the v force 2's or 3's?). This tecate is going to be a all around rider, MX, trails, dunes. So with that said what size and kind of carb should I be running? I have the stock carb for my 84 & 85. I was told the 85's carb was bigger but I haven't head may good things about the stok carbs off of these tecate's. I only rode this one through about 2 tanks or so of gas last year before I started working on it. So some input on this would be cool as I am nearing the stage of puting it all together.

Nothing wrong with the stock carb other then most of them are completely worn out. I'd go with a 36mm Mikuni TMX flatslide, 38mm is fine also but you really change where the power is delivered by goin that big. I'd get a Boyseen rad valve for a KX over the Vforce as you can get reeds cheaper and at any bike shop rather then having to order.

You have the 36mm right? How did that effect the power? Where would the 38 effect the power at? Also do you have the boyseen cage? If you do how did that change the power at all.

    stock

I had my motor totally rebuilt stock. With a DG Exhaust system and a Boyseen Reed Cage and Reeds and some Koltz 2 stroke oil I got a Big time pick up in Power. My Sprokets are geared up for trails but ive had it at 68 mph according to my GPS on the road. You go up in Carbs and then you get into a bunch of other Things that have to be done.

I went with the 38mm TMX and Vforce II reed cage. Haven't driven the trike with the stock cage but the big carb makes the power really come on in the mid and high rpms. Would settle with the 36 cause I know it would be more midrange and it would save on fuel since the 38 gulps it.

I went with a 34mm flatslide Kehien and I love it, its not too much for the little 250. I hate the stock Mikuni's they came with, nothing but probelms, they ran great or they didnt run at all.

Big green, Where would be a good place to get a 36mm? Did you use one off of another trike or bike or did you get a brand new one? Also if you don't mind me asking what am I looking to spen roughly? Thanks bro.

Sudco, for $229 they will put it in the ballpark jetting wise going by the mods of your motor. I like the fact that its new, nothing used to worry about fixing.
