    crank cash slushy!! NOt good.

ONe of my friends sunk his 200m in my swamp and we went to put it into gear today and it noticed it would not shift out of 1st checked the oil and it was gray and frozen. the Crank case was full of water and oil, and it frozen almost solid (like a slushie). if i thaw it out and put fresh oil in it, will it goe back to normal. HOw would it get in there.

You are going to have to get some lube in there asap cuz the parts are probably starting to rust and that would be bad.

make sure you flush it with a few quarts before you refill it, maybe with some kerosene or something, but you want it well flushed before you refill

crankcase breather hose, that's how it got in there. You need to route them up and out (under the seat is nice).

i would completely drain the motor of all wwater possible and fill it with oil and change it after it warms up at least 2-3 times before you beat on it.... make sure the oil isnt gray after the last oil change before you ride it...

Use ATF to absorb the water. If the water in the motor froze, your buddy is probably SOL.

It will take a while to get the water out of there, I speak first hand on filling one up with water. I am actually quite good at it, it seems. IF you use regular oil then get ready to go through about 6-8 quarts before you get all that water out.
I finally took a suck gun and pulled all the oil/water mix out of the engine that I could, the topped it back off with Yamaha 2-stroke oil and let it run for a few minutes (5 tops). After doing that twice and leaving the drain plug out for 3 days the engine was water free and runs great.

Flipped my 185s in a irrigation canal once and the only thing that kept it from sinking was the tires!
It took 3 gallons of oil to completely flush the engine.
I filled it, ran it, put in gear and rode down street then drained until oil was clean with no water at all coming out. Repeat process.
Use cheap wally world oil in gallon container. Use 10-30 also because it will run out faster than 40 weight.
My 185 is still running to this day and that was 4 years ago.

this is dangerous but i dont it once with a sunk k5 blazer... burried it ahd the motor suck in water and hydro locked it.... there was no mud... just water but crappy brown dirty water... drained it and flushed it with 5 gallons of fuel (poored straight into the intake manifold and cranked it with spark plugs out... then put it back together with tranny fluid as oil and poored 110vp down into the cylinders again... put the spark plugs in cranked it over shot 5 foot flame out the tail pipes (sounded like a RPG hit the barn) i let her idle for about 2 minutes then drained it again filled her back with tranny oil ran her down the raod and back accouple times for mayb 15 minutes drained the tranny flued then put 30w in it with marvel mystery oil... ran her for 2 days like that and never looked back.. the water sat in the motor for 1 day (really over night) becuase she was stuck and had to go get the back hoe.... but she ran good and still is runnin on that motor
