THEY SUCK! the vibration is sooooooo friggen bad, you have no idea until youve rode one....the grips will melt in your hands, frame will crack plastic will crack and if you try to go over 50 or so the vibration of the motor itself wont let the motor crank....it might not be as bad in sand, but either way i wont have anything but a cr500-twin. it will balance itself out...

The 500 vibration is absolutely HORENDOUS in a quad!! I have ridden a few and it is a nightmare. Trust me that is probably the reason he is seling it.......

I think that is an awesome conversion!!! I'd love to ride one someday. Vibration or not. I agree though, vibration is horrible on any 500 two stroke from my experience. I've been on quadzillas, CR and KX 500s and even an old YZ 490 and they all liked to shake rattle and roll.

As far as vibrating so bad they won't "crank" after 50...I'd have to disagree on that one. They'll rip whether they're vibrating or not. The KX 500 I rode for a while would prolly do close to 100 with the 44 tooth rear sprocket that was on it. It was rediculous. (but a total blast)

Maybe if someone made some insulated mounts even if only for the bars it would help tremendously.

the problem is once you make rubber mounts everythign will nwo have its own tolerence because all will shake... pipe will need to be able to shake then to... stuff like that...

The vibration is rideable in a dirt bike or atc. However when you put the 500 motor in a QUAD it becomes unridable. Im talking about vibration that will snap your wrists when you rev it out! NO JOKE! That conversion has been done to death and I have never seen a successful job. Rubermounting doesnt work either. There really is no way to describe the feel until someone rides it, then they will change their mind in a hurry!

Why do the trikes and dirtbikes not vibrate more then the quad? Thats weird. My 500 vibrates but not where its unridable...

The quadzilla was a vibrating machine, but unridable? Unless you're only refering to 500 conversions. Cause the Suzuki LT500R wasn't so horrible you couldn't stand to ride it. It was too much fun pulling my shoulders from their sockets to worry about the vibration.

I had an '87 'Zilla right from the show room floor. The vibration was not bad at all. Big bores vibrate...it's goes with the territory. The "pulling of the arms from their sockets" was well worth the buzz in the fingertips. I've got an '85 CR500 that vibrates only slightly more than 'Zilla did and 'Zilla had a counter balancer.

Im not talking about LT500's. They have a counterbalancer. Im talkin quad conversions with the cr500 and kx500 dirt bike engines.

As for why it happens I couldnt give an exact answer. It deals with physics and such. Not really my forteit

Gotcha. Like I said, I haven't ridden a converted bike 500 to quad 500 yet so I can't make that call. I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page.
