    Whats a 250 ES worth

Hey guys, I'm going over to check this ES out today, they want $850.00 for it the way it sits, looks like it was stored outside for a while. they say it runs, but the battery is dead. Do yo guys think its worth the $850.00 if they don't go down in price?

Depends on what you are going to do with it. If you are going to restore it, its a bit high. Cuz you will have another 800$ in parts to get it super nice.

If you are going to make it a nice rider and work horse, I think that is a decent price. Around here a nice running nice looking machine goes for around 1200$-1500. As long as its a complete unit and motor is tight. I feel you cant go wrong with a big red.

Yeah I want a decent looking rider, and maybe restore it down the road, but this is the very first ES I have come across, and I've been watching also. I kind of feel like I should get it just to have one. lol but its not the one I've been watching for... Whats the deal with the metal piece and the bungee on the seat? Is that old stock Hondaline??? lol

I see where that box mounts up now though, lol. I just need to go over with a set price in my head and not go over it. I'm thinking $600.00 if it runs and don't smoke, I am taking a oil pan over and opening up the drain plug on the rear end. She has 2 SX's that are worst for wear also.

Yeah I paid only 750$ for my 87 Big Red and still had all OEM fenders with no cracks on them. So try to low ball them and see. You can always contact adam (aka rangerover) for all OEM plastic for it.

Check the swingarm bearings.. diff bearings.. hub bearings.. front wheel bearings..... you get the idea.. the ES / SX's have alot of money in bearings to replace when they start to go.. can bet costly.

But if the motor and tranny / clutch all that seems good to go.. i'd offer 600 to 700... if the bearings are shot.. no more than 600 maximum.
    Currently :

    84 ATC - 200 ES, Jimmy-Rigged, don't ask.( Sold, 03-17-2005)
85 ATC - 250 SX, Pride and Joy, Bottom-Less Money Pit.
    84 125 M - The Mini-SX not running yet. but won't be long.

Yeah I just got back from looking at them, good thing they are only 3 miles from me. The Es was in bad shape, it looked like it was stored outside for years, they had an Sx that was not bad though, it needed some shifter work, as did the other sx they had. I offered them $600.00 for the three bikes. I might be able to save 2 of them.

If you have the correct plastic on it then the kicker folds back next the frame behind the right side cover so you don't see it.
