Honda ATC 70 that looses spark when hot

This may be a dumb question but can points get hot to the point that they may close up and loosen back off when the engine cools?

Hello, and welcome to the boards. Sounds like a bad coil. Had It happen on one of my 110's before.

I finally figured out what was the problem, I figured I post my findings incase somebody else may have had the same problem....I found the plug would shut it's self down when it got hot, after replacing the plug everything works fine. The so called old plug was a new plug so it goes to show just because the part is new it dosent mean it is good.
