I used the 200x front end and I'm told mine has progressive front springs in it.

I think all you need to do is cut the tripple tree tube to the correct hight and rethread it. Hey and if you ever want to get rid of a set of those X rims. i need some aluminum ones

You can put a 250r front end on your 250sx like mine I beleive it came off of a 1985 model without modifying the frame or stem. Much easier than the 200x front end were you have to cut off the stops on your frame to work. I tryed both but it was important to me that I have the option to go back all original if I choose. I did not want to touch them frame!

I didnt have to cut anything on my frame. If I still had my front end i could just drop off the X front and pop the SX front end on just that easily.

The problem I had with my 1986 250sx frame was that there were tabs on both side of the stem, The 1984 and 1983 200x frame I had had a large bolt at the bottom of the tree and you could not move the steering all the way because the bolt hit the stop. Found a 250 r front end which has a stop system very simular to my 1986 250sx. It fit perfect no mods at all. Maybe the 1986 and 1985 sx has a different stop system for the steering. I know Honda made alot of changes to there models in 1986.
