Is this a good deal and a little 200x help

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

    Ben
i would have to end the auction as i charish my account as it helps out time to time and is why i am selling the threewheeler anyhows as for work it needs a little of this and a little of that 500 buys the trike as it sits and for 100 i have a new carb rebuild kit a new front brake rebuild kit and new chasis berrings and wheelberrings along with a new drive chain interested 724 433 8792

This guy said he would end the auction early for me and sell this trike for me for $500, as you can see in his email. He also said he would sell all those extra parts to me for $100 extra. My question is: is that 200X worth $500? I'm thinking it isn't a bad deal, but I'm clueless about 200X's. And 2: would it be worth it to pay $100 for the carb rebuild kit, front brake rebuild kid, new berings, and chain? I asked if he would sell it all to me for $550 and he said no. So what do you think?

Now.. about the real question.. in the auction, it says that the brakes need pumped up before he rides? What does this mean and how would I fix it?
And.. I have around $200 (I may be able to get more..) to mess with once I get it and fix it up. Do you figure this would be enough?? What kind of parts do you figure I would need right off the bat?
I've never dealt with anything but Big Red's and SX's (so I've never messed with oil coolers and disc brakes and stuff..).. so I am clueless right about now.

The guy says he will get better close up pictures for me in the morning, so I will post them up for you to see once I get them.

    Thanks for the help!

Depending on the type of chain, that alone can be anywhere from 50 to 90 bucks.

I'll ask him what type of chain it is and tell you guys. And what are chasis bearings, btw? I don't think I've ever heard of "Chasis" bearings.. or does he mean swingarm bearings?

Oh. And I'm probably going to be taking it down to the bare frame and painting everything and replacing what needs replaced. How hard is it to take everything off? The brakes are what I'm thinking may be hard.. is it?

$500 for the trike is probably a fair deal. I don't think $100 for that other stuff sounds like a real deal. Oh a chain too, $100 may be fair. Give the trike a good inspection when you pick it up. Things I would check out are oil pump, how does oil look, spark (is it fat and blue or pale and weak), compression, is the headlight bright and air filter . This will give you an idea of how much it will take to get it right. You can pour alot of money into these pretty quick.

I woul personally buy it, but do not buy the extra handlebars and tires. You can find new ones cheaper. Good deal to me.. I agree, brakes might just need to be bled. PLus...if you have extra cash...buy a cam..Dont mess wit hthe piston. A good Performance Cam will do the trike a lot of good. I have performance mods..and the trike is nice when woken up. To bad there arent any better detailed pictures of it. Check for stress fractures in the front downtube. Those take a lot of abuse.

I didnt account for a chain in my total. We picked a brand new one in the box off of ebay for $33 so it shouldn't add up too badly as long as he has mensioned EVERYTHING.

The handlebars and new tires come with it. The chain, carb and front brake rebuild kit, chaisis bearings, and wheel bearings are what he wants an extra $100 for..

    Ben,

A few years ago I could have told you where there was ten 200Xs for sale, In this area they were everywhere. But that has definately changed. I think anymore if you want a 3-wheeler you are going to have to do what you have to to get the model you want, so I would say go for it. I just traveled two hours last weekend for a complete junk '83 Big Red for parts, a few years ago I would have thought some one was nuts to do that, they were everywhere, that's not the case anymore. Hope this helps in you decision.

He replied about the brand names of the stuff..:

Bearings: He doesn't know.. Honda, he thinks
Carb rebuild and brake rebuild kits: Moose
    Chain: KMC Motorcycle
    And one extra coil

Would that be worth $100 bucks?
