    yamaha SS 440

hey everyone. I havent posted any pics on this site yet and I figured I would give it a shot. This is my 1983 Yamaha ss 400 that I finished building a few weeks ago. Originally bought an 85 ss for $20 that ran great but the track, skis, suspension and basically everything else was shot. So I bought an 83 ss off ebay for $100 and this one had a nice track that was studded, clear registration, and good suspension, and I swapped parts and made an 83.

This is actually a picture of my friend taking it for a spin. It likes to lift the skis off the ground hope to have more pics soon

I had a 1980 ss440. They are nice machines. It started first pull every time. Motor was mounted in the frame instead of on it for a nice low center of gravity. It had a comet 102c clutch,I had it setup to take off at a very low rpm so I could ride it in the woods. Wish I could find another ss440 in great shape.

hey hows it going? yeah, you see a few on ebay every once in a while, but not nearly as much as the phazers or the srv's. For being 23 years old, fan cooled and single carbed its not bad at all. The last time we had snow I had it up to about 75 in the back field and it was still accelerating. Just wish we had some more snow
