Is The 350x Actually Becoming More Rare The The Average Joe

Is the 350X actually becoming more rare for the average joe to ever afford?? By all of these prices on Ebay for all these clean ones etc, is it making it alot harder for the average guy to get one.

By the high prices, and mostly high dollar collector buying all of them also making the more rare? If all these collectors are buying them and keeping large amounts of them and doing full restores etc, they are actually becoming more rare. Why you are asking, well how often do you ever see a collector sell his stuff? Especially to the gereral public. Most sales usually take place inbetween friends or affiliates. So this big ruch of high prices will die off soon, but after they all go, wonder how long it is gonna be until many if any come up again?? Good thing Cvillarria is in the process of moving back home or we would really be seeing some silly stuff.

These are just some silly thoughts I got, just wondered how everybody else take this.

I have noticed the jump in prices, makes me glad I got mine when I did because I bought it off of E-Bay in a way (kinda). I have been offered or 500 more than I paid for mine here recently. It dont look as good as it did when i bought it either lol.. Just getting harder and harder to find. The people that grew up riding them are hitting a stage in life that they tells them they need to get another one? that might have something to do with it.. Who knows..

Yah I beleive the prices are going up, when I first starting looking for a trike before my Z I saw a few 350's for about 1500 CAN. Now there are about 2000+ easy. The way I see it, is yes prices will go up and up. But theres always going to be that nice trike you have always wanted sitting in a shed somewhere. I know I have personally got my dad to stop the car and me rush over to under the tarp cause I saw a tire. There will always be more 350s, just more higher prices. Stock up while you can! and I see you have already

Everything is cyclical....350x's are sweet but they are all over..Markets saturated .....5-7 on ebay at any given time....How often do you see mint Tecates, 86 Tri Z's, or Tigers, A serious collectors needs a 350x in the collection or to the daily rider they are great to have fun on but to the collector I think the other bikes I mentioned are a must....If you want a value to ride the tri Z still takes the cake...mint ones RARELY top 1500.00

I true collector is ???? What is a true collector. I would be much more worried about the guys who grew up normal lifes and the made alot of money. You don't see alot of those tecates etc because not alot of people wanted them or had them. They are sweet and all but most of all people who where riding when available had hondas. they grow up make a couple million a years and buys 24 trikes in one year alone they are gonna get rare. You think somebody making a couple million a year is gonna take his time to list them or sell them ever, NA DOUBT IT. They will stay with the family. If you rode Hondas back in the day which mostly everybody did, then you are gonna want a Honda. You say there is a Tecate on Ebay most people would say..... Didn't know you liked street bikes. You say there is a sweet three wheeler on ebay, most people would only know of the 350x and 250r. Most popular and sought after. Tecate, tigers etc are for very few people. Not down talking them by anymeans, but most people wouldn't even know what they are or persue looking for one. Just my opinion, I have a ton of tikes and am on ebay alot and never looked for either of them. OrangeCounty you know exactly who and what I am talking about above, so I am sure you can relate.d

    Thumbs up

OC obviously sees the same thing....

I think you have it twisted. Here are the latest completed listings that were on E-Bay. The more items for sale usually means the prices are cheaper. The one I bought last summer was not as clean as half of these it was $1900. It looks to me like a nice X can be still be bought for $1500.00. Which is $500 less than 7 months ago. Now RR's $6000 and MM's $5400 is out of the ordinary, and high, and as for the $4500 R thats currently running. Parts are a different story. IMO

    86 350x $1,825
    85 350x $2,250
    85 350x $3,350 original clean Ca.
    85 350x $2,400 clean
    86 350x $800 BIN
    86 350x $960
    85 350x $1,800 BIN nice & clean
    86 350x $1,700
    85 350x $813
    85 350x $1,525
    86 350x $1,600 BIN

I just bought 1 last night all honda except the rear tires, and all there. In great condition it was a 2 owner bike . The man that used to own the HONDA dealer here got it for his son when he turned 18. Well when said son turned 18 he joined the NAVY. Since 1990 it has been in his carpot under a black tarp. I bought it last night fron the dad (the old honda dealer) for $750.00. He also has a 1985-1987 BIG REDS, 1983-1987 ATC250R'S, AND THE 1983-1987 HONDA ATC 200X'S. tHEY ARE STILL IN THE CRATES IN A CLIMATE CONTROLLED STORAGE AT HIS HOME. He has a few ofthe tri-z's and stuff he knew was going to eventually become rare. I need fork boots, and decals for the tank, and a seat cover. Then for boots became I guess,.. dry-rotted along with the seat cover. As soon as i took it to the pressure washer to clean the dirt and black dust off of it , i blew the tank decals off somehow, and the fork boots cracked and so did the seat cover.... I will post pictures of her soon...She ain't mint..... but she is all there...and it wouldn't take much to make her mint ... fork boots and seat cover... and wing decals for the tank....

No I do not have it twisted, by peole like Cvillarria buy them all up, ya the pricing of them may have went down in fact now due to the volume of them on Ebay. But when the prices did go up realy high it brough everybody out of the wood work with them. So how do you know he is not buying them all and just getting discounted prices?? You're not gonna tell me that he could only have one screen name and nobody else ever finding or just calling him and selling to him directly. Again, yea wow they are cheaper than before still bringing good money though, but by bringing htem all out and collectors ets buy bunches of them that are not gonna be selling them atleast not for a long time, it takes alot of the clean x's out of the buyer market. Why is everybody making such a big fuss about all the clean ones on ebay if the are so cheap and commonly found???

Collectors??? WTF In last year you have seen how many mint non-ridden dust collectors??? 2 or 3. Most of the one's selling are not museum quality. Most are riders or restos. If your boy is still buying them, his name or not he ain't paying what he was! How many average ATV riders are buy these things as collectables? They ain't mathbox cars. Maybe you should hit Sotheby's up and ask him many ATC's they sold last year. Barret Jackson???

Hmmmm Rangerover ..I agree to disagree

Yes Honda is the ATC god and sold high volumes of three wheelers...A true collector has a wide range of interest...you can have true collector that collects just hondas for sure....What i am saying is that because they sold such high volumes one cant be worried about finding a nice one.....sooner or later one will come up whether its on ebay, in the barn down the road, or sitting in someones front yard. cvilliria cant and wont buy them all ....sorry he may have many but he will never have thousands of them

I think on the other hand people have given up on the Tigers and Tecates in the sense that they are very difficult and very expensive to restore...low volume production etc. I challenge you to buy one and try to restore one..not like ordering from honda by a long shot!!!! Fewer numbers mean you can command a much higher price...I am not selling but I believe what I can get for my Tecate and Tiger would blow past any of those 350x prices (call me grandiose)...even some of the high prices you have gotten for 350x's....One or two tigers pop up on ebay a year if you are lucky.. I have never seen a second generation tectate that was COMPLETE 100% original all factory parts. Its very hard to find those tool boxes, rear silencers, chain guards not bashed up, owner manual holder etc etc etc.

Your title to the thread was "is the 350x becoming more rare than the average Joe"..I see more 350x 's than Joes I known my entire life: lol: To me RARE means something that is more collectible than the everyday 350x....and I love them

Just my opinion but who am I

All I am saying is that the people that had them and kept them as investments and are now all selling them are ones more than one person knew about obviously. If they all goto one two or three people who are not gonna sell them that leaves the ones to be found in barns etc. Heck ya they are still out there, but just makes it alot harder to find, in my oppinion Mr. Jackson LOL. I do not think cvillaria will buy thousands by any means can he, I would definaely have to say yes, but thats just me talking here.

OrangeCounty, I am not ever ever in my life gonna get in a pisssing match with you about Tecates. You are the tecate Man.

No pissing match here just a constructive debate

Which tecates are rare.... I just sold a complete 1985 model lime green kxt250 tecate 3-wheeler . right down to the original owners manual, It had a Paul Turner Power Pipe, Westcoat Powdercoated Swingarm, and a 4" extended axle. Plus I had all of the original parts that came off the bike. It had all of the original wheels and tires from Kawasaki, plus a set of douglas wheels with pro wedges mounted on them, she was a sand monster. I bought it in 1987 after highschool. The weights slung out of the flywheel (which I hear is a common problem on the TECATES) so I sheaded her up, until about 2 months ago. She cost me $1000.00 when I bout her from my buddy back in 1987 .... I sold her for $1500.00 and bout a 250r from my Old Honda Dealer Buddy .......What was it actually worth... ? I figured around $1500.00 ...... ? .... the bike still had the big number plate over the radiator...I love Lme Green !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!
