We borrowed a 700 sportsman (biggest piece of shiot IMO). First the fuel lines were froze so we had to warm it up, then we took it for a ride, got one mile down the road and it say ENGINE OVERHEATING, CHECK ENGINE. so we head back and add some antifreeze (looked kinda low) and went back out. get one mile down the road and starts flashing same thing. Now today it was about 20 degrees and somehow this thing is overheating. Any Ideas.

Make sure that the Radiator isnt full of trash (in the cooling fins), then do what all of us do. Take the thermostat out, gut the inside of it and re-install it. Or drain all the coolant out and add some of that coolant additive stuff that drops the engine temp. That should help. We have a had a few problems with that in the past and those were out solutions.

I think we got this figured out. The added coolant is now gone again and we had it out for about a half hour ride it and it didnt say overheating (and I got on it some every now and then) so we think the coolant level was so low that the whole system was drained of it.

Proper maintenance on ALL machines is critical!!! The problem was not because it is POLARIS!!!!

Pre-ride check. The same whether it's yours or not. The recovery bottle was right there by the fuel line problem. Blame the gas problem on Exxon or BP?

IMO The polaris Sportsmans are still Big heavy Unreliable POS...Its almost like owning a Ford....Only Worse.....haah

I used to having a machine ready to when you start it. When the anti-freeze level looks good and its running that normally means it should be good. Not always apparently.

The fuel line freezing sounds like watery gas.. My buddy had a 700 sportsman and it was fun, and did awesome 4wd donuts...
