who makes this?
who makes this?
A big giant huge 250R tank that they made for those that used to race those Desert races. I believe its around 3 gallons. They made them so you had less stops during the races.
86-87 Tecate ROCK!
Ride fast...........brake late............and Slide the rear!
3.5 gallons and they're made by IMS. You can still get them brand new I believe.
Yeah, looks like IMS. Pretty sure they're still available. Unsightly, but you won't run out of fuel.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world, Those who make things happen, those who watch things happen and those who wonder what the hell happend.
Clarke, i beleive makes a 4 gallon tank for the R's. Rocky Mountain has em, pretty high dollar though
I think they look pretty cool when you combine it with a hi flite desert seat. The ims ones are 4.0 gallons and they are still available.
I have a black one brand new, got it for $99 on ebay. Its a really nice tank, very thick plastic, great mounts, nice shiny plastic. Its going on my project R. Going all black, with red accent, (fork boots, seat, rear shock spring. I think I'm gonna get a nice stock type pipe for it and make it trail bike. I dunno. I just think all black will look slick.
You guys are right though, looks funny with the tank sticking out past the shrouds. I've been playing with the idea of some billet alluminum contour peices to mount at at the edge were the tank meets the shrouds. I figured anodized black countour peices would help smooth the look of the tank, and look kinda trick too .i dunno.
Thats Rs a back burner project though. The 500 is going to be done for trikefest if it kills me......anyone wanna buy a testicle? Only slightly used and well maintained...
"Yes its broken, but does that really surprise you?."
"What happened? What does it look like happened?!?!"
