    Tecate axle?

Anyone know for sure if a Tecate-4 axle will work in an 86-87 Tecate-3???
It ain't about the money, or even being #1, you gotta know when it's all over you did the best you could of done! And knowing that it's in you and you never let it out, is worse then blowin' any engine or any wreck you'll ever have!

What, a 400ex axle in a 86/87 Tecate three wheeler?

As for the first question, I emailed Dura blue recently enquiring about 86/7 T3 axles and they told me that they had Tecate4 axles, so I asked them if they fit a
Tecate three wheeler and the answer came back as No. Which made me wonder why they bothered to tell me about the T4 axle??

As for the 400ex, any one know how to fit one of those up to a T3?

I have read that it will not bolt in. But I have never looked at one to see if there are any differeces in the carriers. If they are close to bolting, you could always mad a T4 carrier to work. I would get a cheap one off ebay to mess with before you spend bucks on a good axle and carrier.

i know that miltech uses either 400ex or 250r raer carriers when they make a new swinger for the tecate. i am getting ready to order myself one with a 400ex carrier, it gives you more choices for axles that way. maybe that is what the guy was talking about.

Well it looks as if the tecate3-4 axle swap is not going to be a goer, I was thinking of putting a Banshee "swinger" type bearing carrier on the back of my Tecate.
Banshees are quite common and the yamaha rear caliper looks very similar to my Tecate one. Putting a different model swinger carrier on a swing arm designed for a swinger carrier shouldn't be too taxing on the old brain.

The Tecate-4's carrier is eccentric type, like a Honda 250R. All Tecate 3-Wheeler carriers are a swing type, like a Banshee. So no switching Tecate 3-Wheeler and 4-Wheeler carriers.

I was talking about putting a banshee carrier on to a tecate swing arm.
