    110 rebuild

Im tearing the top end apart but cant get the cam chain loosened to get it off. took the tensioner off the bottom of the motor. Didnt make a difference. Do I take the cam sprocket off or what. If so how do I do that?

Yes take the bolts out of the cam sprocket, then you can pull the cam out, the Sprocket will drop down, and pull the head, dont let the chain+sprocket fall Down intpo the bottem end, its a PITA to get out again.

Ok, its all apart now. I'm replacing the rings because the bike smokes. The piston says honda on it but I dont know if it's stock or not. How do I tell what rings to buy. Can I just assume that its stock with the Honda piston?

If it a oversize pistion it should say something like .50 on it. If its stock or standard bore it will say STD.

Look on the rings, if you take them off, on the top side of them near the ring end gap should be a number, if its standard Bore and rings it will say STD or just a T, if its oversized it will normally have a number like.50 or something, also on the top of the piston, you will have to take some scotch pads or wire wheel to see the stamp in the top if its oversized.

here is what my stock pistion looks like. i was thinking that a new piston would have std on it. my original just says IN on the top, Honda on the one side, and Z943 on the other side.

gota grab the 1 ring endgap on the top, pull it up and kinda twist the piston off it.....hard to explain...if you havent put rings on before i suggest you order 2 sets so your not Cursin when you break your first one.

Get a manual. They explain what to do, that is what they are for. If you have to, take the piston to the dealer and have them measure it.
