    1984 200es parts interchangable

    Will a cdi box and ignition coil from a 82 big red 200 be interchangable or do I have to stick with the 84 year?

    The 1984 Big Red was a one year only cdi box. The coils are interchangable. The 1984 cdi boxes are know to go bad on that year of big red. I can get you a brand new cdi from a bike repair shop by me for around $100.00. I know I just bought one for mine. We are both in PA and I just looked at one a month ago, you didn't happen to just buy this did you? The guy wanted $300 for this one.

    the 200s, 200m, and 200es all have the same CDI ( black box )

    I was just down this road, and the 1984 200ES is wider than any of the others. I also plugged 200S, 200E and 200M ones into my harness, and no spark. As soon as I hooked the new 1984 200ES one into my harness, tons of spark.
