    points to cdi question

I have a 79 110 with points. I feel that it would be more reliable and easier to troubleshoot down the road if it had a cdi system off of a newer model 110. What is necessary to swap out the points for a cdi (parts and labor - what have I got to do??) Please be specific, as I'm pretty dense!

you basically have to change out the whole bottom end!
the crank is different that accepts the generator flywheel setup and the case itself has different mounting points.

the cdi has 2 stators and there is a nut to hold the flywheel on not a bolt into the crank like the points generator. the generator style setup that you have will not power the CDI. other than that the CDI itself would bolt right on.

it is nice to have the cdi but if your machine runs....
