neeed help ( swing arm bolts)

ok , i just spend 1000 dollars on a rearend , put all new bearings and seals , along with the swingarm , i goes to put it in and my swing arm bolt only screws in the frame about 3 threads .. so i guess someone tore it up before .. what can i do ? or do i need to put that whole peice of frame in her .. i do have another frame but id like to try sumtin else before i did that . any help ?

go to a hardware store and get a threader and rethread it

try it with the swingarm off first, just to make sure nothing is binding in the swinger. if it still won't screw in, are the threads on the bolt still good. if they are then get a tap the same size as the bolt and chase the threads in the frame. are you sure thres threads in the frame? most swingarm bolts use a nut on the end.

explain how the bolt is, is it a blss that threads in with a tapered bearing that holds it together liek the 250sx and the big reds, or is it liek a 300ex or such and uses a straight bolt?
