    Yamaha it200 cdi?

Well I went and picked it up yesterday. $275. The guy said it had no spark. So I went out there this morning, took the tank off and looked around. There are no wires running to the back of the bike where the cdi should be located. Its sopposed to be on the side of the air box. Parts seem to be hard to find for the 200 model but the book says "if the 200 model is not listed, please refer to model it175k". So, my question is, will a cdi from a 175 work on my 200? The 175's were giving 20cc's more and they called it a 200. So I'm thinking it will work, but knowing my luck it wont. Thanks.

Well, nevermind. Had no spark because the flywheel and stator wasnt even bolted in .. Anyways. She runs like a champ. I just need to adjust the cluth and I think fix the shifter return spring. Something is a little off there. This is turning out to be a fun little project

Took it for a little ride today down my street. I was only in 1st gear the whole time but, wow. Major torque. I now have the clutch torn apart because it didnt work, and I need a new shift pawl spring because its weak and wont return the shifter. The pressure plate was only held on by 5 bolts and the 6th was missing the bolt and the spring. So I will need a new clutch boss. Bikebandit has them for $48 so I will probably order one from there. Also, is there anyway to find out if the fraction plates and clutch plates are bad without the proper tool? I also found out it has a Answer spark arrestor silencer on it. Its loud, so I'll need to repack it. I just can't wait to get this thing up and rolling. Hopefully by mid march.

Well, you can visually check the frictions and the steels for wear and warpage. That should give you some kind of idea.

Use a feeler gauge and a really really flat surface to check for warpage on the steels.
