    Tire spins on rim....

I got a set of new Dirt Devils on steel wheels. Since I got them one side has broke the bead a few times at under 5psi and leaks out the bead unless I run about 8 psi. There is no damage whatsoever to the rim or tire. I have had it unmounted and remounted with beadseal and it then broke the bead when driving in the snow. These tires are cheap 2 ply tires and I wonder if they are just useless. What on earth can be done to fix this? Should I break the bead, clean it and contact cement this thing on there??

I would break the bead and make sure there is not alot of rust or some oil or grease or something on the bead. Don't use the contact cement unless you want to have serious problems later, major pain in the butt. If worse comes to worse, you might look into innertubes, just a suggestion. Try cleaning the bead seating area on the wheel, you might have to wipe down with mineral spirits or something if it has grease or oil. I hope you didn't try putting your tire on with wd40. Don't laugh, I've seen it done.

I would just use a tube. Goodyear can put them on for you and there cheap. My dad did it for me. He works at Goodyear.

These are Brand New - No oil grease, dents.... nothing. Running a tube will never work because the problem with tubes is that if the tire slips it rips the valve stem off, not to mention that I hate tubes!! I'm just wondering if the tires are simply too cheap and flimsy to seat properly and would new Douglass aluminum rims hold better?? These tires hook up well in the snow and it's a shame to not be able to use them..

I had this problem with some holeshots on OEM honda wheels. Go to NAPA or an autoparts store and ask for a bottle of bead sealer. Its black nasty tar looking stuff. Break the bead on both sides and liberally smear it all over. It should do the trick.

Your other option is to go to 10" tires and wheels.

You Could try taking a Chisle, or air chisle(wich ever you prefer) and put Lines On the Edge of the rime Like a stamp almost where the bead seats, They use it on Big tractor tires to keep them from slippin, could prolly use it on a ATC rim...at leas try it...

On my big red the tires were cracked bad and wouldnt hold air so I put tubes in them and spun the tire and riped the valve stem out. So I put in new tubes and screwed the tire to the rim with about 20 sheet metal screws and havnet had a problem since.
