I would love to keep all 4. But the problem is that $1000 of the money isn't mine.. and I can't come up with $1000 very quick. $1000 of it (the money I'm buying the Z with) is my parents money from taxes, and they need the $1000 back my May 8th. I don't turn 16 until May 15th so I can't work to pay it back. I have about $500 in my one bank account that I still need to finish up the X, and I have alot in my other bank account.. but I can't touch that because it is for college and its in a 2 year (I think) CD right now..
Believe me.. if I had a way to keep all of these trikes, even if I owed myself $4000.. I would. But its not all my money.
My grandmother died about 2 months ago ( that sucked!!), and she left me like $3000 in her will. I would be more than glad to use that money, but I won't be getting it for quite awhile.. they need to sell her house and all of her property, put the money into the estate, and only after everything is sold can they divy up the money.
But I'm sure I can find an R again some day, and maybe even a nicer one. They are quite easy to find in my area compared to Tri-Z's and 350X's. So for now, this one goes..

You have four of the most poplular sport trikes out and they're all in decent shape or soon will be and you're only $4000.00 in debt. WHAT"S THE PROBLEM? I'm sure there are many members on the forums that are way more in debt and don't have as many nice trikes as you will. So here is my advice (and remember you asked for it). to the real world. We're all in debt but who cares it is the american way. You're still young and it sounds like you have a stable head on your shoulders. Especially for being only 15. Keep all the trikes sell other stuff or maybe the parts you don't need and with summer coming work your arse off to make up the deficit. Problem solved.

P.S. The R will be way faster than the Z. I've raced Derrick's Z with my stock 350X at TF-05 and I blew it away.HAHAHA. Just kidding derrick. But seriously we were side by side the whole way.

Also. Please don't take much of what I said seriously or be offended even though most of it is true.

    I hope this helped.

Wasn't so close without the mud a month later was it? LOL

    Kevin

what somebody pays for something means nothing when selling it...

if somebody gave you a brand new car... would you sell it for $80 because thats what the oil change and airfilter costs.....

if he wants $2000 for it then great.......

I agree sompletely with Seadoo650. I'm close to 30k in debt after college and i wont be selling any of my trikes. As you get older you'll realize that $4000 is nothing, it seems like alot when your young but it really isn't. If you get a good summer job and watch your spending you could easily pay off 2500.

He's right.. if you bought a mint 350X from someone for $2000, does that mean you would sell it for $2000?

And about what seadoo said.. thats not an option..
If it were my money that I paid for this R with, I would have no problem keeping it.. but its not and I can't exactly get a $1000 loan from anyone.. lol
My parents paid for the R with their tax money and they were going to take that $1000 out of my bank account on May 8th when they needed it, but after buying the Z I'm going to have only $500 in my bank account (most of which will be going towards the X), and I have to sell something to pay my parents back..

Bring it on bigboy. I got a terrible hole shot if that is the vid I'm thinking of. I want another piece of that Z before ya get rid of it. Be honest though. The R would run circles around it.

It looks like Derrick got a pretty bad holeshot too.. he lost quite a bit of time by going sideways before he got going..
And the Z is a nicer piece of equipment for less money than the R. Even after I get the Z ported, get a head job done, and put a bigger carb on it.. I'll still have less into the Z than the R..
I'm not going to be racing the Z much though.. I might enter a few at the fair grounds but thats about it.. I'm more into comfort at the moment.

I can't see the dilemma here

If you can't really afford a new bike, don't really buy a new bike.....

A lot of people would love what you've got already. How bout you fix up that poor unloved R a bit. From what you've told us it sounds a pretty easy to fix. I bet a lot of people wish they had your dilemmas.

Your lucky to have some machines there that you can still get spares for!

I want the Z because 1) I've always loved the look of it and 2) its in way better condition than the R. Not to mention I'll be getting the Z for $500 less than the R, so if I sell the R for the price that I got it for, I will be saving myself $500..
And about fixing up the R, I would love to! I hate to see unloved trikes, but I wouldn't have any money to do that for atleast a year or two.. with this Z, I will be either a) saving myself $500 or b) saving myself $500 that I can use to mod the Z..

Buy old beat up trikes, and part them out. You can make tonnes of money from that. Just dont part out complete machines that run. Thats just a waste.
