    250 sx question

    does the battery have to be hooked up,and operating to get spark?isn't that the purpose of the kicker?i still have no spark on my sx.i have not tested the componets yet,gonna do that tomorow.just curious if the battery plays a role in the spark issue.

    It shouldn't. I'm pretty sure all *Edited* have to do is have the wires together, or have a dead battery there, just to complete the spark's circuit........

    I don't think the battery has anything to do with it.. as far as I know, all you need is to have a battery there. (Actually I'm not even sure if the battery has to be there at all.. lol)

    the battery has nothing to do with it. my SX doesnt have a battery on it. When i got no spark it was my CDi. Should be a good starting point.

    check the neutral reverse wire as my 250es had no spark and the reverse switch wire was cracked

    No battery is needed, check for problems in the on off switch before anything else. I've seen the soldered connectors come off many times...

    well i still got no spark.the starter is turning over now,but there are no gears inside the case?i took it apart to find alot of things aparently missing.are these gears hard to replace?


    i got power to the starter,but no neutral light,i will check the assembly again

    have you tried kicking it over to see if there is spark or just electric starting it?

    i tried kickin it,no spark.thats why i wonder whats going on.maybe in the stator assembly?someone has had it apsrt,because all the electric starter gears are missing in the left side case.maybe they screwed something up in there.

    or they just removed the gears. Make sure your getting a good ground and that all the electrical tests out before you rip into 'er.
