Whatever you do DO NOT SELL THAT TRIKE!!! That is a rare find for sure and worthy of a restore. I wonder how many are still out there? This is only the second one I've seen in a long long time. Does it run?

I hate to burst any ones bubble, but your bike is NOT a ATC200R. It is a production ATC250R that may have at one time been be-bored and / or stroked to be legal to run in the 200 2 stroke class. Many privateer racers did this, mostly with Kawasakis as the "de-bore" was easier to do on the Kawasaki's.

The ATC 250 was already a small bore, and reducing it made the engine VERY undersquare which isn't really a combination that will build hi HP.

Many aftermarket seat manufacturer's could and did add any logos to seat covers, and many came with the necessary parts if purchased in "kit" form.

Again, sorry to inform you, but you have an ordinary ATC250R. If the engine is still in its 200cc form (doubtful), you would really benefit by restoring it into a 250 again! It will run WAY better and be much funner to ride, believe me.

I noticed the DG logos on the side of the cylinder. DG was my major sponsor back when I was racing a trike just like yours. They (DG) did excellent porting work.

    Good luck and ride safely!

    Mike

?? I have never to this day seen an aftermarket Honda seat cover that looks as authentic as OEM.....Like the one pictured on that 200r seat. Looks very authentic Honda to me right down to the grain of the vinyl and the lack of aftermarket stitching. I am not discrediting what you said but are you saying there is no truth to Honda racing suppliying some rider with these bikes?.

I'm so confused... Can you tell us who or where you purchased this trike? How do you know it was an old national racer in other words.

Because the guy I bought this from I know well, (I used to work with him) and he was only the 2nd owner of the trike. He bought it from the guy that raced it. He never really told me much about the bike when I bought it. The guy that does all my motor work has been telling me bits and peices about it. He also raced flat track and was good friends with him. I know his name but I am not revealing!

Well if anyone knows about this things it would be mike coe (coeshow). He was a factory racer in the 80's. Either way I think you have one kickass piece of machinery there.
