    Wheel/Tire question

Ok, Im rebuilding an 81 185s. Im using the rear brake drum/axle from an 84 200m. The rims that came off of the 200m and 185s are both shot. I have a set of rims that are marked with the size "10x55." What type of hubs will I need to put these rims on my trike. What tires would fit these rims if I do use them?

Also, people on here talk abotu putting 200x hubs on this trike to allow for a wider variety of rims. Does this take anything other than getting a hold of the hubs and simply bolting them up?

    Thanks very much.

Just take out the pin and unbolt the big nut in the center and putthe 200x hub on there. If they are 10 inch rims just go to denniskirk.com and pick out the tires you like.I suggest the ams fox a/t radials for the no suspension trikes, they have a good ride to them

    Cool, thanks very much!

Something else im wondering after doing some research...

Im painting the trike red frame/plastics kinda like the 250r, because I think they look so nice. I also like the gold wheels, but cant seem to find a good set w/o tires anywhere. Are these rare? Does anyone make a gold aftermarket rim that is similar? Denniskirk.com has some nice rims, but I dont want anything chrome or too fancy...

That would be 10x5.5, and those are front rims for a quad. You dont want to use them. Thats a 10" rim (bead) 5.5" wide. You want something 8" or 9" wide which is the second number. (8x8, 9x8, 10x8, 9x9 etc.)

For hubs Id recommend 250X/300ex or 400ex over the 200X hubs. They are the same bolt pattern (4/110), but have longer studs so you can use the thick OEM rims, which are a dime a dozen. Honda Aluminum OEM rims they use on everything now, with the rolled lip are a lkot more durable, and keep their appearance a lot better than the aftermarket ones if you ride anything rocky.
